What is Cupping Therapy? Cupping is a traditional, time-honored treatment still favored by millions of people worldwide as safe, comfortable and remarkably effective for a wide range of health disorders. You should only receive Cupping from a Certified Cupping Practitioner.
Cupping is the use of suction or negative pressure instead of compression which is used in traditional massage. Cups are attached to the skin's surface where tightness or imbalances are present. The cups may be left on during treatment or moved over the body for cupping massage. The pulling action of the cups rapidly releases tight muscles and loosens connective tissues. Circulation of blood and lymph increases throughout the body which relieves injuries. Toxins, inflammation and stagnation are released allowing the body to detoxify and heal.
Why Should You Use Cupping Therapy? Deep relaxation is achieved with Cupping Therapy since it quickly engages the parasympathetic nervous system. Many clients fall asleep during Cupping and notice immediate results for pain relief. Cupping is beneficial for many conditions including: asthma/breathing problems, headaches, cellulite, arthritis, sciatica and more.
Facial Cupping has been used by women in Asia, Europe and Russia for generations. Cups for the face are small with less suction for the delicate facial tissues. The benefits to the face include increased circulation and nutrients brought to the skin, reducing lines, wrinkles and scars. The drainage of stagnant fluids will reduce edema and chronic puffiness.
To get the most out of your cupping session, please arrive well hydrated and do not schedule cupping when you have a sunburn or are hungry or thirsty. You may experience discolorations on your skin during and after your session. These discolorations are toxins and stagnation being pulled to the skin's surface. They will be flushed out of your body by your circulatory system. This may take a few hours or as long as 2 weeks and will depend on your cupping after care.
Please read our Cupping Therapy After Care Instructions before scheduling. Current clients may book your session or buy packages online here. New clients please call for more information before scheduling.
